Honor and Respect upon you

Picture
My sword is pledged to a side of a fight I do not hold true to. I may not be the primary fighter in this fray, however, when spectators lay their eyes on me, immediately they tie me to a certain side of the feud. Or perhaps it is my name which pins me to this allegiance. There is a grudge held between all those who reside in the households of Capulet and Montague. Piteously, my name bears the latter. But I would not be a happier man if I had the name Capulet. I wait for the joyful day when the citizens of fair Verona see that winning a quarrel stands as foolish gain. This long held grudge is foolish and tiring. Our city is not meant for destruction-- she is too beautiful.

But Montague is not all that I am.  I hold honor and respect to all's name till their actions prove me otherwise. Yet there is one I love above all others, a companion so close that I think him my brother. His father is my uncle, Montague. Romeo, my friend, my coz, is the fellow I shall stand by when the earth falls. My pleasure is found in the truth that I bear this fortune of venturing upon such a journey of life by his side.
I am a man, true and trying, Benvolio.

    What doth thou thinketh?
